To help cultivate an international outlook, Chongqing University, School of Law and the University of California Davis, School of Law, jointly host a double-degree LLM programme. On May 16th, 2020 our two schools hosted an online seminar to provide students with programme information.
The online seminar introduced the key elements of the UC Davis aspects of the programme, and showcased student experiences from UC Davis. At the beginning of the seminar, LIU Chun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee (School of Law, Chongqing University) provided her perspective on the significance of the study abroad program for academic development and student life enrichment, while also indicating that our School would expand options available for students to study abroad. Adriana AGUENA, International Admissions Officer (UC Davis, School of Law), gave a detailed introduction to the double-degree LLM at UC Davis, including admission criteria, course selection, faculty, community life, college and community support, scholarship applications, and other opportunities such as potential internship opportunities with the Government of California.
SUN Ruiheng, a student participating in the double-degree programme, shared her learning and life experience. While describing her living conditions, student experience and options for travel and experiencing American culture, she also encouraged her classmates to participate in the programme. Ms. Beth Greenwood, Vice President of International Cooperation (UC Davis), expressed her support for the double-degree programme, indicating that UC Davis Law School will fully support the programme and warmly welcome Chinese students to the United States.
